Science-Backed Business Transformation ™ // 30-Day Diagnostic ™

Smart Leaders Use Science.

70% of all business transformations fail. ¹

Yours doesn't have to.

You already know that things need to get better (and fast).

But you also know that changing the wrong way could cost you millions.

And, that's where science comes in.

But first, in this simple, structured, 30-minute session, we will review and unpack what is slowing, distorting, or defeating your transformation + determine whether a 30-Day Diagnostic ™ is the right next move for you and your business.

 Show up with the issues.

Leave knowing what exactly to investigate first (and why).

30-minute conversation. No obligation. Zero sales pressure.

¹ Sources: Kotter (1996); BCG (2020); McKinsey (2021). Estimates vary by transformation type + success criteria.

THE PATTERN

Business growth + market shifts almost always change the work faster than enterprises change the system around the work.

What worked for 50 people won't for 500, and definitely won't for 5,000, and vice versa.

This is true for decisions, priorities, accountability, information, incentives, escalation, and all of the other strategic execution factors driving business transformation success (or failure).

And when those mechanisms mature more slowly than the constructs around them, systemic friction and fault lines start showing up in places that appear unrelated at the surface, but are not.

The consequences of business transformation issue misdiagnosis are real.

And, oftentimes, they compound under the radar up until the point of failure (and beyond).

  • Time wasted

  • Money lost

  • Trust eroded

  • Value declined

Forward movement that should take days takes weeks.

Leadership keeps revisiting decisions that everyone thought were already settled.

Critical handoffs depend on a few people secretly knowing who to call.

Teams are overloaded yet their priorities keep multiplying.

Workstreams report progress while outcomes keep slipping.

Escalations arrive late because bad news travels slowly.

Meetings pile up because the system does not acknowledge tradeoffs.

Programs go on forever, thus delaying and diminishing value capture.

THE SECRET

Transformation
is a science.

Every transformation has a causal architecture.

When several symptoms appear at once, immediately responding to each one as a separate problem keeps the underlying root causes of destructive execution patterns hidden.

So, I review and assess what leadership is seeing, looking for the shared conditions that could plausibly explain why those symptoms are appearing together >> so that the actual problem can be fixed, once and for all.

True organizational transformation changes how a business:

>> operates,

>> makes decisions,

>> allocates resources, and

>> delivers value.

But those outcomes do not emerge independently. They are produced by an interconnected system of structures, capabilities, incentives, governance, and human behavior.

That's why we diagnose the system before prescribing the solution.

FREE 30-MINUTE STRATEGY SESSION

Tell me what you are seeing.
We will discuss what's probably happening beneath the surface (and what to do about it).

You do not need to decide which symptom is the “real” problem before we talk.

Bring the issues as they actually show up: slow decisions, competing priorities, missed handoffs, repeated escalations, change fatigue, adoption resistance, program drift, value slippage, collaboration issues, or anything else that has leadership concerned. The more observations you share, the better.

No homework assignment. No preparation deck. Just an objective, real-time review of your situation.

SESSION AGENDA

1 : What's Going On

What does leadership keep seeing happen?

What is the team frustrated with?

What outcomes are at risk?

What has already been tried?

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

SESSION AGENDA

2 : What Do I Think

Based on the underlying science that drives all transformation outcomes, I will candidly share whether the issues look independent, concentrated around one problem, or connected by a broader system pattern.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

SESSION AGENDA

3 : What Now

If there is a clear pattern, we will narrow it to the part of the transformation system most likely to be producing or reinforcing it. And then we will identify what evidence would confirm or challenge that hypothesis.

SESSION OUTCOMES

What You'll Leave With

  • Clarity about the symptoms that truly matter.

  • Clarity on whether issues are targeted or systemic.

  • Clarity about where to start your root-cause analysis.

  • A candid recommendation on what to do next.

If I think the 30-Day Diagnostic ™ would help you, I will explain why.  If not, I will tell you what I would do instead (if I were you).

30-DAY DIAGNOSTIC ™

Don’t waste time and effort focusing on the wrong things.

Get scientifically clear about the root causes, the hidden patterns, and driving forces of transformation success.

The 30-Day, Science-Backed Business Transformation Diagnostic  is designed for executives accountable for enterprise transformation offices, complex transformation portfolios, and mission-critical transformation programs, across industries.

We cross-reference critical stakeholder feedback with multiple evidence sources that already exist across your transformation deliverables, metrics, protocols, workflows, dependencies, incentives, scope, and behavior and then we extrapolate and synthesize all relevant data into one causal picture of your transformation.

Then, we run our proprietary diagnostic protocol to determine which conditions are actually constraining progress, which problems are mostly symptoms, where value is leaking, and which interventions deserve leadership attention first.

And by the end of our 30-day engagement, you will clearly understand what's happening, why it's happening, and what exactly to do next, all supported by six evidence-based, insights-anchored deliverables.

  • The ultimate, decision-supporting document that synthesizes and summarizes all transformation diagnostic ™  findings, conclusions, and recommendations for your leadership team, as you look toward next steps in your transformation.

  • Our signature, evidence-based evaluation of your business transformation capabilities' current conditions, performance outlooks, systemic strengths, and most consequential weaknesses, as are reflected across the measure of 20 science-backed, domain-aligned facets.

  • A standalone diagram, clearly illustrating how the seven conditional forces interact across your transformation system + how they are either producing or preventing each one of your observed transformation challenges and issues.

  • A metrics-anchored evaluation of the observed issues currently delaying your timelines, increasing your costs, weakening adoption, or reducing the value of your realized benefits + a customized prioritization table that ranks each factor according to its overall impact on your transformation's effectiveness, outcomes, and overall success (critical / high / medium / low).

  • A cascading visual that practically sequences the recommended order of operations, illustratively showcasing what to address, why it matters, and how each intervention should be approached.

  • A custom-tailored plan of action based on the combination of all your diagnostic findings and conclusions, designed to stabilize / enhance transformation system performance + generate forward / upward momentum, by addressing your highest-impact constraints across the next 30, 60, and 90 days.

Helps leaders accountable for the full portfolio of enterprise transformational change.

Examines how effectively your transformation office converts strategy into coordinated execution across the enterprise.

  • Strategy-to-portfolio coherence

  • Portfolio prioritization and kill discipline

  • Decision rights and escalation paths

  • Governance and meeting architecture

  • Resource and capacity allocation

  • Cross-program dependencies

My Story In Words...

I got into this line of work because I repeatedly noticed the same thing happening over and over again:  business transformation leaders and teams always seem to want the right things but focus on (and do) the wrong things.

What bugs me even more though is that everybody’s explanation about why they are doing what they are doing usually makes complete sense on its own. The problem is, none of us operate in a vacuum. And once I zoomed out and looked at how all of the pieces were interacting together, I noticed some clear patterns that were often sitting right there, hiding in plain sight.

This led me to become just "a tad" (i.e., ridiculously) obsessive about understanding what was actually happening underneath what I was seeing. Leadership Theory >> Organizational Behavior >>  Systems Thinking >> Human Cognition >> Neuroscience >> Etc...

I mean, honestly, I didn't initially intend on becoming a behavioral + systems scientist in the process. But, my experience advising so many different organizational leaders over the years kept surfacing certain questions that my brain wouldn’t let me ignore. So...here we are.

The good news is that, eventually, the science gave me a way to definitively trace the system shaping all of those patterns I kept observing.  And that knowledge, combined with two decades of enterprise transformation experience, informs everything I do to serve clients today. I look across the business and the people at the same time, identify interconnected patterns that people often look at independently, and help leaders figure out what is actually causing what before they spend another quarter focused on fixing the wrong thing.

I built this diagnostic based on decades of hands-on experience + advisory oversight. And it anchors entirely on one core belief:

Transformation is a science.

It's probably well worth 30 minutes of your time if any of these sound familiar.

There is a reason why your transformation looks healthier in the deck than it actually feels in the business.

Those who dismiss that feeling (for whatever reason) are the ones who usually end up in that 70% club.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

Your revenue, headcount, acquisitions, or ambition have scaled faster than the way the business makes decisions and coordinates work.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

Your transformation is busy and broadly ‘on track,’ but nobody can explain with confidence when the value case will actually show up in the business.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

Leadership agrees on the strategy. But functions keep making perfectly reasonable decisions that pull your transformation in different directions.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

Your transformation program is slipping, and your leadership team has several completely plausible but competing explanations for why.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

Your transformation office can report on things, beautifully. But it still struggles to force tradeoffs, clear obstacles, or influence what executives prioritize next.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

Decisions that should take days require three meetings, an escalation, and the same overloaded executive to break the tie.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

Value realization keeps pushing out to a later date even though all of your status reports indicate you are in the green.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

You have already added governance, reporting, resources, or another workstream. Somehow, the same problems keep coming back.

Landing Page Background Image - Universal.png

The transformation only works when the same few people personally intervene to keep it moving.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The one accountable for your business transformation outcomes.

Could be any one of the following: CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CHROs, Chief Transformation Officers, Heads of Strategy, PE operating partners, portfolio-company executives, massive enterprise program sponsors, C-level + 1s, or any other senior / executive leader explicitly responsible for driving transformation forward.

  • Yes.

There is no fee and no obligation, whatsoever.

If I think a 30-Day, Science-Backed Business Transformation Diagnostic ™ is warranted, I will explain why. If I do not, I will tell you what I would do instead. Regardless, you will at minimum leave our session with:

    • A clearer sense of the symptoms that matter.

    • A working read on whether the issue(s) appear(s) targeted or systemic.

    • A hypothesis about where the root-cause investigation should start.

    • A candid recommendation on what to do next.

  • Once you have booked it, you're good to go.

And the booking process itself is simple...

    1. Complete a short, confidential intake form (<2 minutes)

    2. Select a meeting time (via Calendly)

    3. Confirm your booking, via the link emailed to you

    4. Review the simple preparation guidance in your confirmation email

  • Prepare something, no.  Be prepared, yes.

No deck required, though. Just come prepared to share some details about your current situation. Bring the symptoms you are seeing, the outcomes at risk, and what leadership may have already tried. You do not need to organize your observations into anything more than a coherent story about what's happening.

  • That would be a cool party trick.  But, no.

That said, thirty minutes is enough to look across the symptoms, determine whether the pattern appears targeted or systemic, develop a useful causal hypothesis, and identify what evidence would need to be tested next.

When deeper investigation is warranted, the 30-Day, Science-Backed Business Transformation Diagnostic ™ tests the initial + additional hypotheses against multiple sources of evidence, in order to reveal what exactly would be your clearest path toward business transformation success.

  • Great.

That is actually a good outcome. I would rather help you discover that you have one solvable problem than sell you an enterprise-sized answer to it.

  • Typically not.

In many cases, their work becomes useful evidence. I am not trying to replace the people running the transformation. I am helping leadership determine whether the system around that work is producing the result everyone needs and expects.

  • Minimal.

It is intentionally designed to be low-lift. I use existing artifacts and data wherever possible, then target interviews and follow-up only where the evidence requires it. This exercise will reveal the actual state of your overall transformation system, not become another transformation workstream.

  • In the same way that chess is different from checkers.

Those typically tell you where you stand. I am trying to determine why you are getting the result you are getting. A red status or low maturity score is evidence. It is not yet an explanation, nor is it complete insight.

This 30-Day, Science-Backed Business Transformation Diagnostic ™ helps you (1) identify where the symptoms are, (2) determine the underlying issue(s), (3) prioritize interventions targeting the underlying causes (not the symptoms), and (4) make your business transformation resilient against such issues surfacing again in the future.

  • Great.

That can actually make the diagnosis more useful. Mid-flight transformations leave a trail of evidence: decisions, delays, workarounds, dependencies, escalations, behaviors, and value gaps. The work does not need to stop while we examine what those patterns are telling us.

  • Then you are ahead of the curve.

You are probably here because your instincts have already told you that if you don't get this right, things can (and will) go left. We can examine your organization's historical patterns while the setup continues and identify where operational risk, system friction, decision latency, or value leakage have historically accumulated.

  • By design, I have priced this service very competitively.

The strategy session is completely free.

The 30-Day, Science-Backed Business Transformation Diagnostic ™ is a paid, fixed-fee engagement. Scope and timeline are confirmed before work begins so both sides know exactly what is included. Feel free to review the comparison chart above for more information.

Share the symptoms. Let’s find out whether they share a cause.

You do not need to diagnose the transformation before you book. That is precisely the point.

In 30 minutes, we’ll look across what leadership is seeing, determine whether you have a few separate issues or one bigger problem showing up in different places, and narrow where the investigation should begin.

If the pattern is local, great. If it is systemic, better to know before you spend another quarter treating the symptoms one by one.

This is where it starts.
